Hi ! My name is Essie . I was abandoned as a young puppy at a dirt pit . I was very frightened of everyone . I would run and hide in a culvert where no one could see me. I slept in the tall grass and briar patches . After several months , one of the workers gained my trust . He fed me lots of biscuits and chicken . I am am very smart and loyal . Even though I was alone for so long , I am very affectionate and adore attention from people . I am learning to walk on a leash . I do well in a crate . I am ok with the kitty cats. I have not learned to play with toys yet , but I hope to figure it out soon  .I am house trained . I am getting to experience love and care from people .

Save a Stray pets are in foster homes.  Please complete an application at www.saveastray.org to make arrangements to meet our pets.  Out of state meet and greets are conducted via FaceTime.

This pet has been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, and is on heartworm and flea prevention and has adoption fee of $175 (local) - $500 (depending on transport destination).
