Zakiya

Binah (formerly Zakiya) is settling in and showing us a lot of love and joy.  She is affectionate and full of fun.  Binah has learned to walk on a leash, and now she is quite a neighborhood gal.  Though she is still shy of other dogs, she has made some canine friends in the neighborhood.  She loves all people!  And now, having taken a dog training class, she says hello nicely with a wagging tail but a sitting bottom, most of the time.  We are still working on teaching Binah the right things to chew: bones, yes, couch, no.  We will continue to reinforce the self-control she learned in dog training, so we can take her to new, open places to play.

Zuzu (5/18)

She is settling in really well.  When she first came home she was afraid of everything, even our stairs.  Now she bounds up them two at a time!  Today I was able to take her for her first walk, which was a big milestone.  She is still pretty jumpy and was pulling on the leash or just stopping a lot.  I used the gentle leader collar and it went great.  She had her first session with the groomers and they said it went great and of course commented on what a beautiful girl she is.

Zorro

9/2/2015 follow up notes
Bruce (we renamed him from Zorro) is doing incredible! He is such a great puppy. He has great manners, is well kennel trained and is a great addition to our family. He has had 2 well puppy checkups and shots. He is wonderful! Thanks so much for checking up!

Zac (2/17)

I wanted to reach out and let you know that we adopted Zac last Friday. He is now in a home with 2 little girls 5 and 6 years, that totally adore him. He has a canine companion, Pearl who is 5. She was also a resume from Helping Hounds in DeWitt, NY. Pearl is a pit mix and was a local rescue.

We live just out side of Syracuse NY so Zac has had his first taste of snow and very cold weather. He is adjusting well so far. He is getting to know us and we are getting to know him. He is a funny guy! I'm
attaching a few pictures.

We have a fun filled summer planned and hoping Zac will love camping in the Adirondacks and kayaking. We are a very active outdoorsy family. We can send pics if you would like!

He did suffer a bite to his nose in the shelter. Poor thing!

Thank you for rescuing him and sending him our way!

Zac (2/17)

Sorry for the delayed response! Zac has settled in nicely. It has been an adjustment for Pearl and we are still working on that. Zac really enjoys his long walks and belly rubs. He is a little jealous when we love on Pearl so we do our best to give them both some one on one time. We are looking forward to taking Zac out on the kayaks and camping in a few weeks!
