National Spay Day.     It is a day dedicated to encourage pet owners to be responsible and spay or neuter their pets to prevent unwanted puppies and kittens.

Spring is considered puppy and kitten season, so hopefully we can prevent many of the unwanted litters that occur each spring and end up as strays on our streets and in our shelters.

7th Annual

SPAY DAY 2017

was March 10th!

Services are provided free of charge at the Spay-a-thon, to help those who are not financially able to have their pets spayed or neutered.

Gulf Coast veterinarians will participate to alter as many cats and dogs as possible. Sponsored by Save a Stray, the event will take place at Spring Hill Animal Clinic, dedicated to encouraging pet owners to spay or neuter their pets. This will help to prevent many unwanted Spring litters of puppies and kitties that could end up in our shelters and on our streets, & assist low income families with pet alteration.

Although the services are provided free of charge, an appointment is necessary and a lottery system will be used to fill spots. Applicants can submit their pets for the lottery by calling Spring Hill Animal Clinic at 251-343-5033. Those who are drawn by random selection will be notified by phone. There is a 60 pound weight limit and each household will have a maximum of two animals.
