I want to foster a cat!
- Fill out foster form at saveastray.org.
- Take a cat into your home and care for it as you would your own. This could be for a few days, weeks or months, whatever works for you.
- Fosters often provide food and litter but, when donations are available, SaS will provide.
- Vet bills are covered but must be arranged through. SaS uses donations to cover vet bills. Vet bills are covered as long as vet visit is approved by SaS coordinator.
- At first, keep the cat in a separate room, usually a bathroom, laundry room or spare bedroom. Cats need a base camp to settle in. If you foster a kitten and keep it in a bathroom, be sure to keep the toilet seat down.
- Most fosters take the cat(s) to vet visits and to meet potential adopters. If you can't, we work it out.
- Cats are to be kept inside at all times.
